Post Graduate Fellow
Liz holds a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. She has attended trainings on Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) and is on the certification track for EFT, an empirically researched, and proven effective model for couple therapy. Liz utilizes this and other attachment-based approaches with couples, individuals, and families.
Liz believes secure relationships are the foundation to a happy, healthy life. She aims to assist clients in forming deeper and more meaningful connections in their significant relationships through facilitating new, different, and meaningful interactions. She works with her clients to make the environment non-judgmental and validating in order to move forward more connected than before.
Her style of therapy is warm, straight-forward, and insight oriented with humor mixed in, because life is long and difficult, but it's a little easier to have somebody to laugh with.
Liz also has experience in crisis work and is certified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training and Psychological First Aid. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan, with specific interest in working with those dealing with depression, anxiety, family communication difficulties, self-esteem, couple conflict, family conflict, and health & wellness.
