Brandie Raway, Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

She/Her/Hers

Sometimes life and relationships can be too hard to deal with alone. We can get stuck in discouraging patterns and start to feel hopeless, isolated, defeated. Seeking therapy can be scary and, understandably, some people might be skeptical, or uncomfortable talking about feelings. But having someone in your corner to support you as you sort things out, cheer you on through the difficult parts, and assist you in getting "unstuck" can be truly transformative. I work with couples and individuals from a collaborative stance, meeting you where you are to create a safe, nurturing space where we can move together toward your unique vision of hope and healing.

My many life experiences have drawn me to the field of therapy including: the ups and downs of being in a committed relationship for over 30 years, raising two children to young adulthood, and previous positions in vocational rehabilitation, counseling, and wellness coaching. I have been fortunate to have worked with, and cared deeply for, people from all walks of life and I am welcoming to clients of all backgrounds, orientations, gender expressions, and relationship styles.

In addition to my Marriage Family Therapy graduate studies, I have completed training in the following:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)- an experiential type of therapy based on attachment theory that is proven to reduce distress in couples.
  • Prepare/Enrich- useful for premarital counseling or strengthening existing relationships.

I am an advanced graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy Master's degree program at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, currently seeing couples and individuals at a reduced rate of $30 per hour under the supervision of Dr. Kurt Wical and Carolyn Dehnbostel.

Sergio Vucci, BFA, Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

As a therapist, I bring a diverse background and skill set as well as empathy, humor, and a non-judgmental stance to support people as they work on their individual and relational goals. I am an advanced graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy Master's degree program at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, and am currently seeing couples and individuals under the supervision of Dr. Kurt Wical and Carolyn Dehnbostel.

From my decade+ managing in a corporate setting, I bring practical support, coaching, and development skills. As a practicing relational artist, I bring creativity, flexibility, curiosity, openness, and humor to my interactions with others. As a partner in a 20-year committed relationship and as a father of two, I bring an understanding of both the challenges and the reward of deeply connecting with and caring for loved ones. Though my varied experiences may look quite different on the surface, the pattern and passion is clearly in working with people, helping them to effectively understand and communicate their needs, and supporting their growth and fulfillment

I am affirming of individuals and partners of various backgrounds, including racial, ethnic, religious, and LGBTQ+ identification.

In addition to my Marriage Family Therapy graduate studies, I have completed training in the following:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • Discernment Counseling
  • PREPARE-ENRICH Pre-Marital/Marital Couples Assessment

My clinical hours are Monday evenings and Saturday mornings at a reduced rate of $30 per hour. To inquire about availability, please contact me directly at sxvucc16@smumn.edu or at intern@mncoupletherapycenter.com.
