Jay Lampert, MA, Marriage and Family Therapy
Jay has his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. He has completed training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and is currently seeing couples and individuals at a reduced rate as a Post-Graduate Fellow at MN Couple Therapy Center under the supervision of Dr. Kurt Wical. This is a new career path for Jay after working as a Research Chemist for the past 20 years. Jay was a volunteer phone counselor at a crisis call center for three years, where he helped people in crisis reach a place of emotional and physical safety and directed them to available community resources that offered longer-term support. In doing that work, he discovered a deep and abiding interest in helping people heal and thrive.
Jay’s training has included:
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
- PREPARE-ENRICH Pre-Marital/Marital Couples Assessment
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy
- Discernment Counseling
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
Jay is available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
