Interns

Sarah Anderson BSN RN,
Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

I am pursuing my Master’s degree at Adler Graduate School with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I look forward to working with couples and individuals experiencing challenging seasons in relationships and in life.

During my nursing career, I supported patients and families in times of great joy and deep sorrow. My work as a nurse provided a unique opportunity to develop listening skills and a warm and empathetic presence. As a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Eating Disorder Institute (EDI) and Melrose Center, I learned a non-blaming, skill-based approach to working with clients and their families. I bring these skills, along with substantial life experience, to my work as a therapist.

I understand fractured relationships, loneliness and the longing for healing and connection. My relationship with God, the support of important people, and a passion for wellness in mind, body, and spirit directed my healing journey and inspired my desire to help others.

I am a student member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

My training includes:

  • Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • PREPARE-ENRICH Pre-Marital/ Marital Couples Assessment

As an intern at the Minnesota Couple Therapy Center, I am accepting clients at a reduced rate under the supervision of Carolyn Denbostel, LMFT and Dr. Kurt Wical, Ph.D., LMFT. To set up an appointment call 651-340-4597.

Sergio Vucci, BFA, Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

I bring a diverse background and skill set, as well as empathy, humor, and a non-judgmental stance to support people as they work on their individual and relational goals. I am an advanced graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy Master's degree program at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, and am currently seeing couples and individuals under the supervision of Dr. Kurt Wical and Carolyn Dehnbostel.

From my decade+ managing in a corporate setting, I bring practical support, coaching, and development skills. As a practicing relational artist, I bring creativity, flexibility, curiosity, openness, and humor to my interactions with others. As a partner in a 20-year committed relationship and as a father of two, I bring an understanding of both the challenges and the reward of deeply connecting with and caring for loved ones. Though my varied experiences may look quite different on the surface, the pattern and passion is clearly in working with people, helping them to effectively understand and communicate their needs, and supporting their growth and fulfillment

I am affirming of individuals and partners of various backgrounds, including racial, ethnic, religious, and LGBTQ+ identification.

In addition to my Marriage Family Therapy graduate studies, I have completed training in the following:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • Discernment Counseling
  • PREPARE-ENRICH Pre-Marital/Marital Couples Assessment

I am currently available Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings at a reduced rate of $30 per hour. To inquire about availability, please contact me directly at sxvucc16@smumn.edu or at intern@mncoupletherapycenter.com.
